Activism

It is inevitable that an advocacy group such as the Sapiens movement, will become involved in lobbying with a view to altering the perceptions of the politicians and the media who, between them, exercise internal control of the policies of nation states and determine which external non-democratic pressures their states should oblige.

Lobbying activity can commence even when Sapiens membership numbers are low. Later, when sufficient membership has been recruited to give adequate weight, the organization of boycotts of trade and if necessary, of selected companies and individuals, will become an effective tool. (The collapse of the Apartheid regime in South Africa could be seen as a prime example of the efficacy of this approach.)

Causes will be identified and actively pursued which further the aims that the Democratic World Government will ultimately be established to implement. Environmental protection, prevention of exploitation of developing countries by the developed, and international peace and justice are all areas in which Sapiens will be active.

To avoid clutter on this site, such campaigns will be coordinated and/or organised through separate linked Sapiens sites. (See "Links.")
